Adelopetalum bracteatum
by Warren Williams
This delightful Australian species grows in SE QLD TO NE NSW region. Since I
reside in Toowoomba my cultural conditions would differ slightly to those people
living elsewhere. This species requires cool conditions and I grow my plant under
70% shade cloth all year round. My plant gets watered daily for most of the year
except in winter where I water the plant 2nd daily. Fertilizers used on the plant are
native fertilizers ( high in potassium ) once a week. This species will not grow in a
pot and requires a mount of which I use either cork or bottlebrush. If you are able to
meet its requirements in cultivation this species will reward the grower with a
delightful spray of flowers every year in October.
